Grizz add Steenbergen

The Olds Grizzlys have Re-assigned forward Josh Murphy to North Vancouver Wolf Pack and have signed former Kootenay Ice defenseman Jordan Steenbergen.

Steenbergen, who played 62 WHL hockey games was also apart of the Red Deer Midget AAA program.  Head Coach Brett Hopfe thinks that Steenbergen will make a immediate impact on the Grizzlys roster.  “Jordan has experience and has the added benefit of being familiar with a lot of the players on our roster.  We expect him to come in and be a impact player for us defensively.  He is a great skater and works extremely hard when he steps on the ice and that is something that we always welcome to our organization.”

Murphy will go back and play with North Vancouver and Hopfe is hopefull that he returns next season with added development under his belt.  “Josh is a tremendous kid that we see a lot of upside in.  It was as simple as us not being able to get him in as many games as we would have liked to.  There is nothing worse than a player sitting in the stands and we have strongly believe that if it is unfair to a players development then we will help him find a place to develop and improve.”
