Grizz earn 3 out of 6 points on road trip

Grizz finish with record of 1 – 1 – 1 after games in Calgary, Lloydminster & Spruce Grove last week.

The Calgary Canucks were first on the menu on Wednesday January 8, with the Grizz winning a come from behind 5-4 OT victory. The Canucks jumped out to a 4-1 lead but powerplay goals from Spencer Dorowicz & Landon Kletke tied the game late. Kletke scored again in OT to steal the victory.

A two game road trip followed on the weekend with the first game against the Bobcats. Another slow start saw the Grizz down 2-0 in the 1st period. Goals by Jack Gorenson and Spencer Dorowicz in the 2nd period drew the boys even but eventually Olds would fall in OT 3-2.

Saturday night against the Saints was not any better as the number one ranked team in Canada held the Grizz to only 14 shots on goal while securing a 3-1 victory. Ty Mappin scored the only Olds goal in the second period.

Next up for the Grizzlys in Co-op bike night on Friday January 17, 2014 versus the Canmore Eagles.
