A two game homestand this weekend saw the Grizzlys beat the Lloydminster Bobcats on friday, and lose big to the Spruce Grove Saints on saturday.
Dustin Gorgi scored the winner at 15:30 of the 3rd period on friday night to gain a big 2 points against the Bobcats. The game was a chippy affair that featured 2 fights and a slew of other infractions. Ethan Jemieff played solid again stopping 37 of 39 shots.
Saturday's game could only be described as a circus. Both teams combined for over 150 penalty minutes as the referee lost control early in the 2nd period. The visiting Saints took full advantage of the 12 powerplays they were awarded, scoring on 4 of them. When the dust settled Spruce Grove left with a 10 – 2 victory.
