Grizzlys Here to Stay: President Steps Down

Olds sportsmen’s & Recreational Association

Olds Alberta, April 17, 2014 – At a recent meeting of the Olds Sportsmen’s & Recreational Association (governing body of the Olds Grizzlys Junior A Hockey Club) the Board of Directors approved the development of a business plan that will allow the Association to continue operations in Olds Alberta for the upcoming AJHL season and for many years to come.  Details of the business plan will be presented at a Town Hall meeting that is scheduled for 7:00 PM April 29 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Olds.  All Association members and interested parties are requested to attend and provide input and guidance on specific ways to insure the Club’s future.

In a further development, Jim Ross has been named interim President to replace Russell Jemieff who has stepped down from the Board.  Mr. Ross, who has previous experience as President of the Association, will fill that position until the Annual General Meeting which is tentatively scheduled for June 11, 2014.

“We have a very important few months ahead of us to plan for the future,” said Jim.  “Our recent 20th Anniversary Centennial Cup Celebration really shows that the alumni and community are really behind this team and we need to make that happen.”
