The Olds Grizzlys have traded forward Tanner Dunkle to the Lloydminster Bobcats in exchange for forward Mathew Marcinew.
Marcinew, who had 45 points last year and currently sits with 17 points in 21 games, was the Bobcats leading scorer up to this point.
Grizzlys Head Coach Brett Hopfe said, “We felt as though we needed a shake-up and we were looking for a player who could help us on the powerplay. Mathew has 11 goals so far this season and will definitely help our powerplay which has struggled all year. Tanner Dunkle has been a big part of our organization over the last few years and the Grizzlys Organization would like to thank him for all of the hard work and dedication that he has put in and wish him the best of luck in his hockey career.”
Marcinew will not be in the Grizzlys line-up in time for tonight’s game as the Grizzlys head to Calgary to take on the Mustangs. Fans can expect to see Marcinew in a Grizzlys uniform this weekend when they take on the Whitecourt Wolverines Saturday, November 10th at 7:30pm and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons Sunday, November 11th at 2pm.
