Grizzlys sign hometown player Kyle Venneman to LOI.

The Olds Grizzlys are thrilled to announce the LOI signing of Olds Native Kyle Venneman.

Kyle is a 2003 born defensemen who stands at 5’10” and weights 170 pounds who played this season with the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs U18AAA.

In only 5 games this season, Kyle had 1 goal, 2 assist for 3 points and 2 penalty minutes.

While practicing proper safety protocals & procedures as per AHS guidelines, Kyle is the first player the Grizzlys have signed in the new Grizz Den in Uptown Olds.

Kyle is an elite skating defenceman who has huge potential to produce offence from the back end.  His skating allows him to skate the puck out of trouble in the D zone and into the attack offensively.  Kyle’s great lateral movement with the puck allows him to find great passing lanes or to get shots through on net.

Kyle caught the attention of Grizzlys General Manager / Head Coach Scott Atkinson while participating in the Olds Grizzlys/Triumph Skills Academy skills development camps that the Grizzlys run throughout the year.

Kyle is another example of The Friends of The Grizzlys (Grizzlys Ownership Group), committement to giving opportunity to Olds & area players to play for the Grizzlys.

The Olds Grizzlys welcome Kyle and the Venneman family to the AJHL Grizzlys family and we are excited that Kyle will be playing his junior hockey at home in the Olds Sportsplex in front of his family and friends wearing the Gold & Black.

The Grizzlys will have another annoucement next week… could a top, speedy forward be on his way to Olds….
