Grizzlys Trade Paylor and Add Brown at the January 10th Trade Deadline

The Olds Grizzlys have traded 20 year old forward Chase Paylor to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in exchange for future considerations.  The team then added 16 year old Defenceman Cale Brown who was playing for the Mountain View Colts.

Grizzlys head coach is excited to have a player of Brown’s caliber join the Organization. “We sought out a defenceman during this deadline that will compete everyday and would die for the Grizzlys Organization.  We had a lot of offers for older defenceman who we felt did not fit the role that we were looking for.  So we decided to sign Brown because of his commitment to hockey and the fact that he has played phenomenal for us in the games that he has been called up with us.  We are very excited to be able to have a player of his age and talent join our team.  He is going to be relied on heavily on our powerplay.”

“It is always tough to see a person like Chase Paylor leave but we made the move because we wanted some freedom in case a 20 year old came up during the trade deadline activities that we could not ignore.  Chase is a great kid and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.” Said Hopfe of the Paylor trade to Alberni Valley.

Fans can expect to see Brown, who is an Olds native, in the line-up soon.
