The Olds Grizzlys turned the calendar page into 2026 with some new faces in Olds for the second half of the AJHL season.
Goaltender Cole Prelusky joins the Olds Grizzlys after the team acquired his Junior rights. The Calgary native has already joined the Olds Grizzlys and should be a welcome addition to the team between the pipes. He was drafted by the Victoria Royals in the 2023 WHL draft in the 3rd Round, 62nd Overall.
Last season he backstopped Calgary Hockey Academy to within a goal of a Circle K Classic Championship; he is a highly touted prospect in Western Canada. Prelusky will wear the #1 in for the Grizzlys.
The Olds Grizzlys organization would also like to thank Captain Hunter Motley for his tireless leadership on and off the ice, especially within the community. He was traded to the Kindersley Klippers and has reported to the team in the SJHL.
Forward Nhan Boebel also joined the Olds Grizzlys recently. Cambridge Massachusetts native is another 2007 product that will add speed and skill up front. He will wear the #6 for the Grizzlys.
In a separate deal the Olds Grizzlys acquired forward Noah Kelly from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons. He had six points, three goals and three assists in 24 games this AJHL season. Going the other way in the trade, the rights to Red Deer native and forward Brodie Hankle.
Lastly, the Grizzlys would like to thank Connor Johnson for his two seasons in Olds. The Calgarian will be moving on in his Junior career.
The Olds Grizzlys are excited to welcome the new additions to Olds as the team gets younger and prepares for the future in the AJHL South Division.
