The preseason has finished and the Olds Grizzlys have been anxiously waiting for this date since their elimination last year at the hands of the Brooks Bandits. The Olds Grizzlys Home Opener is set for September 7th at the Grizz Den – puck drop is 8pm against Northern Divison rivals Spruce Grove Saints. With the roster now trimmed down to 24 players, the boys will now have some weight lifted off their shoulders and focus on the task at hand of earning four crucial points in the Home Opener Weekend.
Saturday, the Grizzlys will go to battle at home once again at 8pm against the Canmore Eagles. With a lengthy training camp and exhibition schedule now completed, the Grizzlys will no doubt be itching to play some hockey with points on the line.
The Olds Grizzlys would like to invite all fans to a tailgate party prior to the game on Friday, September 7th. The pregame festivities will kick off at 6pm and run until warm-ups at 7:30pm and will include free hot dogs, pop, facepainting, an inflatable fun zone for children, and plenty of prizes and giveaways.
