The Olds Sportsplex was buzzing with excitement on Wednesday as the Olds Grizzlys hit the ice for their annual media day, marking a key milestone in their preseason preparations. Dressed in full game day gear for the first time this season, the players took center stage to create content for promotional videos and photos, giving fans a first look at this year’s lineup.
Lights, cameras, and plenty of action filled the rink as players rotated through a series of photo and video shoots. Spotlighted at center ice and flanked by professional lighting rigs and cameras, the athletes brought both energy and personality to the set — showcasing not just their game faces, but the culture and camaraderie that define the Grizzlys organization.
In between takes, the players made the most of their time together. Benches were filled with laughter, lighthearted banter, and impromptu interviews, giving teammates a chance to bond and share stories while waiting for their moment in front of the lens. It was a day filled with high spirits, positive vibes, and plenty of behind-the-scenes fun — all while building chemistry off the ice.
Grizzlys media staff worked closely with the players to capture everything from epic slow-motion walk-ups to candid interactions and team interviews. The footage and photos will be used throughout the season for game-day promotions, social media, and other fan engagement efforts.
As the team gears up for the upcoming AJHL season, Media Day offered a refreshing break from training — and a perfect opportunity for the community to see the personalities behind the jerseys. With the season just around the corner, this event has only ramped up the anticipation in Olds.
The Grizzlys are ready to hit the ice — and now, thanks to a successful Media Day, they’ll do it in style.
