Player Spotlight: Finn Bagley

This month’s Olds Grizzlys Player Spotlight goes to Finn Bagley! Finn, better known as ‘Bags’ with the boys, is playing close to home, hailing from Airdrie, AB, where he was coached by Grizzlys head coach Tyson Soloski with the Airdrie Xtreme! In Bags’ rookie season, he’s put up 4 assists in 19 games played. Now, points don’t define his game, as in every single game, Bags is flying around doing everything he can to get the puck, playing a gritty two-way game, battling in the corners, and just always seems to find himself in the right places. Finn has been a big part of the team’s success every night with the role he plays.

Finn joins us from the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL, where he was drafted in the 5th round, 92nd overall in the 2023 WHL bantam draft. Bags went on to play 16 games across 3 seasons for the Thunderbirds, earning his way onto 2 assists in his time in the next level up. Before that, Bags played in the Calgary Rockies JPHL U18 system for two seasons. Before that, he spent parts of 3 seasons in the Airdrie Xtreme & Bisons AAA programs for two U15 seasons and part of one U18 season, where, in his WHL draft year, Bags scored 24 goals and 35 assists for 59 points in 33 games!

Catch Bags and the rest of the boys in Black & Gold in the New Year for the Grizzlys first home game back when the Drumheller Dragons are in town on Sunday, January 4th, for a 3 PM matchup!
