This weeks Olds Grizzlys Player Spotlight goes to Jordin St. Louis! St. Louis is the youngest member of the Grizzlys as the teams only 2009-born player, but one of the most dominant. His last name is pronounced like the city in Missouri, not like NHL legend Martin St. Louis, but is called ‘Louie’ in the room by the team. So far in his rookie season, Jordin has scored 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points in 31 games which places him 5th in rookie scoring, one point behind rookie linemate Ryder Reidel.  Jordin has also split time with the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL, where he was drafted 20th overall in the 1st round of the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, where he’s played 2 games for the next level up this season. Standing at 6’1 160, the rookie sensation has been a vital part of the Grizzlys team so far this season placing 3rd on the team in scoring at this point in the season. His role of centering the line of Hoy-St. Louis-Riedel who has had major success since the line was formed most, most recently combining for 11 points in a win against the Devon Xtreme when St. Louis scored a goal and 3 assists for the best game of his rookie season so far. When looking away from points, Louie has been a workhorse and a hard forechecker, always skating with 100% effort and doing everything to get the puck playing with no fear, finishing his checks and skating into corners with whoever. Louie’s puck handling has been elite, he’ll skate laps around the offensive zone going around whole teams just to find his passing lane to lead to a goal. It’s safe to say, Jordin St. Louis is a future star.

Last season, in his first season post-WHL Draft, Louie played for the Airdrie CFR Bisons U18 AAA team where he had 19 goals and 22 assists for 41 points in 36 games, along with appearing in 3 games for the Olds Grizzlys as an AP where he had 1 assist.
