Matt Hnatiuk began his tenure with the Grizzlys in 2022, joining the organization as a scout. His deep understanding of the game and a keen eye for emerging talent quickly set him apart, and within a year, he was promoted to the role of Director of Scouting in 2023. In this capacity, Matt leads the team’s scouting efforts, working to identify and recruit exceptional players who possess the skill, determination, and character to succeed at the highest levels of hockey. With a strong passion for player development, Matt is dedicated not only to advancing the athletic careers of those he works with but also to supporting their educational and personal growth. He believes in fostering well-rounded athletes who excel both on and off the ice, preparing them for success in all aspects of life. Matt’s leadership and commitment to the Grizzlys’ scouting program continue to play a pivotal role in building a strong, competitive team for years to come.

Bronson Pall – bronson@oldsgrizzlys.com
Bronson Pall serves as the British Columbia (Lower Mainland) Scout for the Olds Grizzlys in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, bringing a deep passion for player development and talent identification to the organization. Originally from BC, Bronson’s hockey journey includes extensive experience both behind the bench and as a player, having coached with teams such as the Grandview Steelers and the Port Coquitlam Trailblazers, where he helped guide and develop young athletes. His dedication to the game and eye for emerging talent has made him a valuable asset in evaluating prospects throughout BC and supporting the Grizzlys’ mission to build a competitive and character driven team.
Calgary Area

Brady McNeil – bmcneil@oldsgrizzlys.com
Brady is a Calgary area scout, in his fourth year with the Grizzlys. Born and raised in Calgary he brings an extensive knowledge, and connections, in the area. After his playing career he became both a scout and coach hoping to give back to the game. In addition to his role with Olds he coaches a U15 team in Calgary.

Derek Fink – derek.fink@oldsgrizzlys.com
Derek is in his first year scouting with the Olds Grizzlys. He brings an extensive background, having coached youth hockey for the past 21 years. Derek is a teacher in the Calgary Catholic School District and runs a hockey academy for young student-athletes aspiring to play at the next level. He is passionate about being in the rink, identifying and recruiting exceptional athletes who possess the skill, determination, and character to succeed at the highest levels of hockey.

Gerry Moulaison is a new scout with the Olds Grizzlys and in that less than a year I have learned quite a bit – I have coached at several levels over the past 20+ years in central Alberta and still enjoy going to the rink to watch a game at any level and spot emerging talent.

Rylan Wiest – rylan@oldsgrizzlys.com
Rylan Wiest is a Calgary-area scout for the Olds Grizzlys, after holding the same role with the Spruce Grove Saints of the BCHL. Wiest grew up in Enchant, Alberta and played 3 seasons in the AJHL with the Camrose Kodiaks, hosting the RBC Cup Nationals in 2011 and being named captain in his final season. He then played 3 seasons with the USports University of Calgary Dinos.

Bo Montgomery – bmontgomery@oldsgrizzlys.com
Bo Montgomery is a former hockey player from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, a community known for its strong hockey tradition. Growing up in Saskatchewan, Bo developed a relentless work ethic and competitive edge that defined his playing career. He competed in the Western Hockey League (WHL) playing primarily with the Portland Winterhawks , and briefly with the Medicine Hat Tigers, where he skated as a defenceman. Known for his commitment, physical play, and team-first mentality, Bo earned respect both on and off the ice. Since stepping away from competitive hockey, he continues to carry forward the discipline, leadership, and values the game instilled in him.
Sask/Manitoba Area
Greysen Goudy – greysen@oldsgrizzlys.com
Greysen Goudy joins the Olds Grizzlys as the club’s Saskatchewan and Manitoba regional
scout ahead of the 2025–26 season. A lifelong student of the game, Goudy grew up playing
competitive hockey in Saskatchewan, finishing his minor hockey career with the Weyburn Red
Wings U18 AA. Goudy later attended the University of Manitoba, where he’s been studying a
degree in Agribusiness. In his first year of University, he began watching junior and youth
hockey more intently and discovered a passion for scouting. In 2023, he joined FCHockey as a
video scout and writer, evaluating hundreds of prospects across multiple leagues and draft
classes. Now splitting time between Saskatchewan and Winnipeg, Goudy brings an ambitious
and modern perspective to the Grizzlys’ scouting team as part of a new era in Olds.
Southern Alberta Area

Jon Pentney – jpentney@oldsgrizzlys.com
Jon Pentney grew up in Southern Alberta and has remained deeply involved in the region’s hockey community. He is a coach with a strong focus on player development and long-term growth, bringing an educator’s perspective to the rink. Jon also serves as a board member with the NWCAA and as the CIHA Educational Liaison, supporting athletes both on and off the ice.
