After a busy month in December, the Olds Grizzlys look to close out the month with one last game against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons before the boys head out for Christmas Break.
December 20th Vs. Fort McMurray Oil Barons: For the second time and last time this season, the Fort McMurray Oil Barons will visit the Olds Sportsplex for the last matchup before Christmas Break. The last time these two teams faced off, the Grizz fell 6-3 in a spirited game at the beginning of November. While the Grizzlys fell short of two points, they were led offensively by Brendan Thomas and Sean Richards, who both had a multi-point game in the previous faceoff. Richards scored the Grizzlys first of three goals, along with getting a piece of a powerplay goal scored by Jordin St. Louis. While Thomas had assists on Richards opening goal, along with a helper on Ryder Riedel’s first goal. Players to watch for the Oil Barons are forwards Ryan Arnold and Justin Dumais. Arnold had a hattrick against the Grizz with Dumais getting an assist on all 3 goals leading to taking home two points against the Boys in Black & Gold.
