Weekend Report: Successful Teddy Bear Toss

The Olds Grizzlys played an even weekend, going 1-1 in the two games played the past two days.

The team started off on Saturday night against the Camrose Eagles. It was the night of the annual Teddy Bear Toss, sponsored by the Brick in Olds. On the ice, the Grizz started aggressively in the game. Though the scoreboard showed 0:0 at the end of the first, it did not reflect what had happened on the playing surface. The Olds Grizzlys were pushing hard to get the first goal of the game. Finally, at 13:07 in the second, it was Jared Power who made it rain teddy bears at the Sportsplex. The first Grizzlys goal of the night, scored on the power play, to make it 1:0 Grizzlys. The team batted through the night and ended up winning the game with a final score of 5:3. Additionally, the Grizzlys organization was delighted to host a successful night supporting not one, but two charities, thanks to the local Brick store.

The following night was not as successful. The Grizzlys faced a much stronger Okotoks Oilers team. 5:0 was the final score of the night in favour of the Oilers.

The Grizzlys will now head north on a two-game road trip to Fort McMurray and Bonnyville before returning to the Sportsplex on Tuesday, December 5, when hosting the Brooks Bandits at 7:00 PM.
