The Olds Grizzlys are proud to reveal their initial batch of AJHL signing commitments for the 2026-27 season!
Jonathan Bitonti, a right-shot forward from North Vancouver, put up back-to-back 30+ point seasons in the CSSHL, including 18 goals and 34 points in 30 games this past year with Yale Hockey Academy. At 6’1″ and 185 lbs, Bitonti brings size, skill and a proven scoring touch to the den.
Jack Coghlan, a Calgary local, spent the past season with the Calgary Flames U18 AAA program, racking up 8 goals and 28 points in 33 games while also suiting up for the Grizz as an AP. The 18-year-old left-shot forward is no stranger to winning either, bringing a CSSHL U17 Championship from his time with CIHA to Olds.
Gavin Faul, the St. Albert forward, has already seen AJHL action with the Camrose Kodiaks across two seasons, including 3 goals and 7 points in 10 games this past year.
Forward Jake MacDonald, an Edmonton native, started the past season with the Black and Gold before returning to the Edmonton Jr. Oilers U18 AAA, where he wrapped up his season with an AEHL championship and a 34-point campaign in 28 games. He plays a style that gets under your skin every shift.
Max Malinousky, a West Vancouver forward, is one of the most gifted playmakers in this signing class. After winning the CSSHL U17 Most Assists and Most Points titles in 2023-24, Max followed it up with 50 points in 32 games at the U18 AAA level this past season.
Kade Pierson, a local Chestermere, AB forward, spent three seasons developing with the Okotoks Oilers AAA program, putting up 8 goals and 23 points in 35 games at the U18 AAA level this past season before getting his first taste of AJHL hockey right here in Olds as an AP.
Zane Rains, a Cochrane, AB local, is one of the youngest players in this signing class and one of the most impressive. The right-shot forward posted 14 goals and 31 points in 27 games at the U18 Prep level this past season with Prairie Hockey Academy, all at just 17 years old. Zane was also previously selected by the Spokane Chiefs in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.
Reid Soper, an Edmonton native, is a 6’3″ shutdown defenceman with serious hardware and serious pedigree. Drafted by the Lethbridge Hurricanes in 2024, Reid put up 20 points in 21 games from the blueline this past season with the Edmonton Jr. Oilers U18 AAA before helping his team capture an AEHL U18 Championship in the playoffs.
