The Okotoks Oilers came into Olds on Tuesday and gave the Grizzlys their 5th straight loss by a score of 3 – 1. Special teams played a major factor once again as the Oilers scored two goals on the powerplay and the Grizz went 0 for 8 bring their combined powerplay in the last 5 games to 1 for 25. Scoring issues have been a common theme this year as well, as the Grizzlys outshot the Oilers 39 – 28. Spencer Dorowicz scored the Grizzlys only goal, an unassisted shorthanded marker halfway through the second period. The top shelf shot also helped Dorowicz earn Player of the Game Honors for Olds.
The Grizzlys will have two hard days of practice while the team sits with 15 points and sit in 7th place in the south division. The boys will be looking forward to the next game as the Camrose Kodiaks come to town Friday, Oct. 26 for the Battle of the Bears. It is a late 8pm start time as the Olds Grizzlys Annual Bantam AA Tournament is taking place from the 26th to the 28th. Please call the Grizzlys office for ticket information.
