Grizzlys Announce Coaching Staff for 2017-2018 Season

Growing up in Calgary, Adam played his entire minor hockey career in the city, before moving on to Junior hockey with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the AJHL. After four years with the Oil Barons, Adam was the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. Adam then went on to play for the very successful program at University of New Brunswick, where he played in two CIS National Championships, winning a silver medal in his freshman year, losing to the University of Alberta in double overtime.  After university, Adam played professional hockey with the Indianapolis Ice of the CHL before returning to Calgary to begin his coaching career.

Adam, for the past two years, has been an Associate Coach with the Calgary Canucks organization.  Prior to his coaching career in Junior, Adam was the Head Coach of the Midget AAA Buffaloes for five years, amassing a total of 96 wins in the AMHL.  Adam is no stranger to the Grizzlys program; ten years ago Adam was an Assistant Coach with the Grizzlys under current Drumheller Dragons Coach Kevin Hasselberg.

Adam along with his wife Janice, daughter Lilly, and son Ryan are excited to be joining the Grizzlys family once again.

Joe Murphy was born and raised in Didsbury, 10 minutes south of Olds.  He played his minor hockey in Didsbury and joined the Olds Grizzlys in 1992. He was a member of the Canadian Centennial Cup Championship Team in 1994.  He then went on to the University of Denver, playing for the pioneers for the next four years and continuing his playing career turning pro in 1998, lacing up with the Huntsville Channel Cats. He continued to play pro in the CHL, AHL, ECHL, and Europe for the next 8 yrs.  He is married with one child.

The Olds Grizzlys are also pleased to welcome Mike Bagshaw to our Business & Marketing team.  Mike started his sales and marketing career back in the mid 90's with CHQR -QR77 Radio. During that time his focus was selling and promoting Calgary Stampeder’s Football broadcast rights and sponsorships. A few years into that position KICK FM was acquired by QR77. A short time later it was converted to Power 107.3…..'Power 107 plays today best music now show me your money'. That format change and slogan proved to be one of the most successful re- launches in Canadian radio history. Mike continued his career working in sales and management roles within the broadcast industry working for Corus entertainment, Rogers and Newcap. In 2005 Mike spearheaded pay per view for the Calgary Flames growing that revenue to one of the most successful in the NHL.  Mike continues to consult with various companies on their sales and marketing strategies. Mike has been married for 23 years and has 4 kids.

Dana Lattery will stay with the organization as a special advisor to hockey operations and the club would like to thank Dana for his unwavering commitment and dedication to the Olds Grizzlys.
