The Olds Grizzlys have acquired Cody Nicolay from the Drayton Valley Thunder in exchange for Future Considerations.
Nicolay is a 6’1”, 200 lbs. goalie from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Last year, Cody went 7-8-1 with Drayton Valley posting a 3.78 GAA and 0.885 save percentage.
“Cody is a big goalie who adds some youth to our line-up. We are very excited to have a young goalie in our line-up who has played a full season in our league already. We felt it was important to add another goalie who can contribute to our success this year.” said Head Coach Brett Hopfe.
Nicolay is expected to be in the Grizzlys line-up Wednesday, Sept. 19 in Calgary against the Canucks and then continue on the road with the team Friday and Saturday as they head to Bonneyville and Lloydminster. Grizzlys Fans can catch a first glimpse of Cody on Monday, Sept. 24 as the Camrose Kodiaks come to Olds.
