The Grizzlys are back to the .500 mark after a Saturday night road setback 4-3 to the Calgary Mustangs. Calgary came out fast led 3-1 after the first period. The Grizzlys pushed back hard for the final 40 minutes, leading the pace of play and outshooting the Mustangs 24-19 overall. The opening Grizzlys goals were also the first 2 in the AJHL for new forward Dustin Gorgi. Nikolas Kobersteins’ second marker of the season came as time expired in the game. Austin Kernahan chipped in with a pair of helpers. Ethan Jemieff made 15 saves during his first defeat.
The Grizzlys battled back from 2 goals down, tying their first road game on Friday night 2-2 in the 2nd, but a power play goal by the Oilers on a 2 man advantage was the difference as Olds fell 5-3 to Okotoks. Kyle Star had 2 points with his first goal in a Grizzly sweater and an assist. Chris Gerrie and Austin Kernahan also scored. Jake Tamagi stopped 33 of 38 in net and was star of the game for the Grizz.
