Road Report

The Olds Grizzlys were busy on the road the past week. The team traveled to Camrose last Tuesday night for the first of three road games. The Grizz were able to edge the Kodiaks 3:2 and extend their winning streak to three in a row. Cody Laskosky got the game-winning goal and player of the game that night.

Coming off the victory in Camrose, the Grizzlys were facing the Okotoks Oilers on Friday night for the first of back-to-back road games against south division teams. The Grizz had a tough start to the weekend as they fell to the Oilers 5:0 in a game filled with penalties. The team took the loss as motivation when going to Calgary the next day to face the Canucks for the last game of the three-game road stretch. The Grizzlys came out strong at the Ken Bracko Arena, beating the Canucks with a score of 5:1 on their ice. Cody Laskosky got the player of the game, scoring two goals and assisting one. This was the third player of the game award for Laskosky in three road games. Goaltender Josh Brindza deserves a mention as well, giving up one on 40 shots during Saturday's game.

The Grizzlys will now return home for three games at the Sportsplex. It starts this Wednesday, November 22, as they face the Bonnyville Pontiacs at 7:00 PM. After, the Grizz will play two back-to-back home games on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, November 25th, the Olds Grizzlys will host the Annual Teddybear toss. This event is provided by the Brick in Olds. People can buy teddy bears at the Brick in Olds, or at the Brick booth at Wednesday's home game. Or they can choose to bring their own. All the money collected from the sale of the Brick teddybears will go to the Children’s Miracle Network. The teddybears tossed on the ice will be donated to the Olds and District Christmas Angels. The team is hosting the Canmore Eagles and puck drop will be at 7:00 PM.

The weekend will be wrapped up on Sunday, November 26, when the Grizzlys play host to the Okotoks Oilers. Puck Drop will be at 7:00 PM.
