Grizzlys come up short against Bandits

The Grizzlys were at home in front of an energetic home crowd on Tuesday but fell to the reigning AJHL and RBC Cup champion Brooks Bandits 7-3. Olds was stride for stride with the Bandits and kept skating despite falling behind by a pair early in the game. Christopher Gerrie scored on the man advantage for his 3rd goal the season to tie the game at 2-2 in the second period. Gerrie also had an assist for a 2 point night.  BJ Duffin scored for the first time this year and Kyle Star added his second. Ethan Jemieff stopped 29 of 36 shots.
The Grizzlys powerplay scored twice on their five chances. Olds lead the AJHL in with a 27.78 success rate with the man advantage. Captain Spencer Dorowicz is tied for 3rd in the league with 4 goals through 5 games and is 9th in scoring with 6 points. Christopher Gerrie is 15th with 5 points including 3 goals. Ethan Jemieff has faced the most shots by any AJHL goalie at 122 and sits 2nd in saves made at 107.
Your next chance to come join the fun and cheer on the Grizzlys is Friday at 7:30 as Olds welcomes Whitecourt. Remember to stop by the Grizz Den to take a look at the new merchandise.
